Content Creation: The Value of Frequent Posting

Regularly posting new content on your site, one to three times a week, is key if you want to be successful online.

Why? There are two good reasons:

1. SEO (search engine optimization)

Search engines like Google scan the content of blog posts to figure out how to catalogue them in their databases. Keywords in the post can help the scanners determine categorization quickly. Keywords are words and phrases that people use when they’re searching for information online. Search engines try to match keywords that people use in their searches with sites that contain the same keywords in certain ways.

The more posts that you have that are optimized with keywords, the more search engines will scan and catalogue your site. That means that search engines will have a growing collection of links to your site in their databases that they can list in search engine results when an internet user searches for something using keywords that you used in your posts. Search engine filters are sensitive to common trickery, like using the same keywords over and over in multiple posts, so don’t be lax, have quality content on your sites with different well researched keywords.

Keywords with many searches per month and low competition are ideal to target with your posts. Include them naturally: one relevant keyword phrase per 300-350 word post used up to three times in the post, ideally one of the times in the title.

2. Establishing yourself as a go-to resource in your niche

Visitors to your blog will want to linger on your site longer if there is lots of interesting content to read and view.

By sharing many things with visitors that are informative and helpful you can establish your site as a go-to resource in your niche. As visitor trust grows, sales (if you’re selling products and/or services via your site) will grow too.

You don’t have to be the expert above all experts to have credibility online. Simply share what you know clearly and people who know less about the subject can learn from you.
